Currently, the kitchen was fairly small and had to accommodate dining, there was a dividing wall between that and what had been a lounge area

What we discussed is; they really wanted a family room which would bring in a larger kitchen, a dining area, a lounge-style seating area, a wood-burning stove, full panoramic views of the garden area with bi-fold doors opening onto a side patio.

The space i discussed; that we required to achieve everything they wanted was to build out 3 metres from the rear of the house-remove both the internal stud wall and the whole wall of the house – quite a large undertaking but would give the space required to create the family room.

I produced 3d visuals to show what we could really do with space when completed.

We changed various aspects of the internal layout but the external build remained the same.
